I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Wildlife Crime Issues, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste on unlicensed land this includes household, commercial, and hazardous materials like asbestos and even contaminated dirt. It's a serious criminal offence that can harm wildlife, pollute waterways, damage farmland, and spoil the local area's unmatched beauty. Fly-tipping imposes significant costs on taxpayers, clean-up bills in Cornwall exceeded £450,000 in recent years. Cornwall recorded 3,931 fly-tipping incidents in 2024–25, a 26.8% increase from the previous year. If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.devon-cornwall.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
